Hauberk with Integral Coif and Ventail

Completed 12/3/2003

This is an alternating-row hauberk with integral coif and ventail (the flap that draws across the face.  The client is much larger than I am, which is why the maille seems so big on me.

The ventail is lined with deer skin, and fastens to the brow with a strap and a period-appropriate buckle.  This method of fastening, while conjectural, seems more elegant and functional than the documentable tie method that I have used before.  I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
